Advancing CDN’s Growth Strategy

CDN is excited to announce that effective Dec. 1st, 2021, CDN has acquired Exile Automation. Exile will operate as a β€œCDN company”, retaining their corporate name and strong brand recognition.

Exile Automation is a quality-focused Control System Integration and Automation company located in Calgary. They offer a full suite of services encompassing all aspects of Automated Control Systems, including project management, design and maintenance of high-quality process control, measurement and automation projects, and a certified panel shop.

Exile is based in Calgary and conducts projects throughout Western Canada, with opportunities in the U.S.A. They have a strong Calgary presence of 40 Automation Specialists, Panel Technicians and support staff. Exile’s head office will remain in Calgary, with branch offerings at current CDN locations.

This acquisition will allow CDN to strengthen our Automation services offering, further diversify our client base and conduct work in other sectors including Utilities, Wastewater Treatment, Renewables, Food and Beverage and Agriculture.

The acquisition/Merger of Inphase Electric & Controls on Nov. 1st, followed by this acquisition of Exile is part of CDN’s targeted strategic growth plan to lead the Canadian services sector in performance and breadth of services offered – for our Energy clients and across other industrial sectors. This approach is consistent with our goal to continue to offer more services in-house, expand our specialty services and increase our capacity to serve larger projects.

CDN has matured significantly as an organization since being founded in 2011, and we are in a position in which we have identified a talented team who is committed to robust processes to pursue these opportunities, while continuing to deliver excellent results to our clients.

Exile’s owners, Dean Blahut, Daryl Blahut and Simon Chwee will stay on to run the business and the manufacturing division. Existing CDN Automation and Communication Teams personnel will transition to work under Exile, and Exile will seek alignment with and adopt CDN business processes and systems over the coming months

The acquisition of Exile represents another key milestone in our strategic growth plan to provide in-house, quality services for our customers across a diverse range of industrial sectors”. Dean Fraser β€“ President, CDN

We are very excited to be part of the CDN family and look forward to collaboration with a diversified customer base across multiple locations, and the ability to leverage the unique skillsets of each company.” Dean Blahut β€“ President, Exile
